The latest shooting at a Los Angeles hospital is causing confusion, with some wondering what kind of shooter might have carried out the attack.
The shooting at Loma Loma Hospital was reportedly the first of its kind in California.
The hospital has been operating for decades, and was the first in the US to accept the transplantation of a new lung in 2014.
This year, however, the hospital said that it has seen an uptick in infections in its patients, with several patients showing signs of pneumonia and infection.
The Associated Press reports that Loma La Linda Hospital is now asking its staff to stay home and keep their eyes open.
However, the news agency adds that there is no indication that any staff members were targeted in the attack, and that it was not clear who carried out it.
As of Sunday, a spokesperson for the hospital told the AP that the hospital was working to determine what caused the shooting, and is working with law enforcement.
This is not the first time Loma LA has been targeted.
In 2015, the school district’s emergency medical services office was the site of a shooting.
The Los Angeles Times reported that at least five people were shot, and one person was killed.
The paper also reported that the gunman was a resident of Loma, and may have been influenced by the attack in Connecticut, where another shooting occurred on March 5.
